  1. Can you tell us about your role as a Training and Recruitment Executive and what responsibilities it entails? The Training and Recruitment role is demanding but very rewarding. The team is the first point of contact that applicants have with RONIN, so it is crucial to be professional and articulated while introducing the company and their future role. This position also requires a proactive attitude and great attention to detail to keep records up to date. We work in a fast-paced environment with many last-minute projects which means we have to be quick and efficient: posting ads, screening applicants, training and ultimately determining which are the best candidates to help us reach targets and deliver quality results.
  2. What sparked your interest in pursuing your career in training and recruitment? In my previous company, I was asked to assist with a few tasks, including training and recruitment. I hadn’t given it too much thought before then, but I haven’t looked back since. I believe the role fits my personality and vice-versa.
  3. Can you share a specific example of a challenging recruitment scenario you've faced and how you successfully navigated it? We are faced with many challenges due to the specificity of our projects and the myriad of languages and markets we cover. I would say one of the most challenging tasks we were given was to recruit certain rare languages for a sizeable project we have every year. One of the trickiest languages was Sgaw Karen – which I hadn’t even heard about prior to this.
  4. How do you ensure that the recruitment process is efficient and follows best practices while providing a positive experience for candidates? We have a great team who communicates very well and ensures all stages of recruitment are followed and done in a timely and effective manner. It is crucial that the applicants meet our expectations and requirements, but it is equally important that we welcome them and make them feel part of the company.
  5. What skills or qualities do you believe are essential for success in this role, and how do you embody these qualities? To be a good recruiter and trainer, you need to have a friendly can-do attitude and to be a good communicator. This is a fast-paced environment with last-minute changes and requests, so a key skill is to be able to adapt quickly and work well both independently and as part of a team. The fact that I have worked for different market research companies not only as an interviewer, but also as a supervisor and recruiter gave me the know-how and experience to fulfil my current role.
  6. Can you share a particularly rewarding experience you've had in your role as a Training and Recruitment Executive? I have had many rewarding moments, and it is especially satisfying when we have last-minute requirements and we are able to quickly source and train quality candidates, despite the short notice. If I had to choose one experience, I would say the process of training my colleagues when they joined the department. It gave me the opportunity to share all the tasks and skills involved in the day-to-day life of a recruiter and pass on my passion for what we do.
  7. What advice would you offer to someone aspiring to work in the field of training and recruitment?I would say that a key word in our line of work is communication. Before contacting or engaging with anyone during the stages of recruitment you have to know what to say and how to say it. Your approach and delivery are very important as they will help mould the applicant's opinion.
  8. What's the most interesting or unusual hobby you have outside of work? Outside of work, one of my favourite things to do is baking. I love to bake anything but mainly cakes, biscuits and brownies.
  9. If you could have a conversation with your younger self, what advice would you give? If I could speak with my younger self, I would tell her to live her dreams and be confident in everything she does.
