OUR PEOPLE AT THE HEART OF OUR STRATEGY- World Wellness Day

I hope you and your families are healthy and safe. Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this global pandemic.

The events of recent months make the message of World Wellness Day - that living well is not a privilege, but a right for everyone - more important than ever.

I want to thank all of our associates for what they have done already to address this crisis by their engagement, commitment and agility, as they continue to serve the people and communities who rely on us. I want also to take the opportunity of this special day to talk about what we are doing to support the wellbeing of our thousands of colleagues across the globe.

A HOLISTIC VIEW OF WELL BEING AT WORK

At OCP, we believe in providing a healthy, engaged, sustainable and inclusive working environment for all our employees.

Our people, woman and men are our greatest wealth and for us global well-being means a long lasting state of feeling good and functioning well, as a whole human and also as a whole group.

We’re committed and constantly looking for new ways to enhacing well-being of our people as the major business driver on a sustainable basis and our Quality of Life program is linked to our holistic well being framework based on 3 pillars : Healthy bodies, Healthy minds & Healthy Workplace. We consider quality of life to be a key aspect of individual and collective performance and we aim to do all what we can to support the mental, and emotional well-being of our associates and their sense of purpose.

The Quality of Life at Work can be understood as a feeling of well-being at work perceived collectively and individually. It encompasses the culture of the group, the purpose of work, the availability of support, the feeling of implication, the degree of autonomy and responsibility, the equality, the safe space, the right to error granted to everyone and the recognition of the work carried out by our colleagues.

TAKING QUALITY OF LIFE AT WORK FROM GOOD TO GREAT

During this crisis supporting our associates well-being has been more important than ever. That’s why, the Group has implementend several actions in terms of :

Mental health support because we care :

For us, minds support is part of the wellness of OCP’s associates as the topmost priority, and even more during these special context.

We provide a psychological confidential counselling help line for our associates, seeking for support or any stress related issues. Feelings of anxiety and uncertainty can overwhelm our people, to support them our Youcode[1] students, working with our medical teams, have developed a teleconsultation platform to offer a safe and effective way to get in touch with doctors and behavioral health specialist who can carry out evaluations by video, audio or messaging according to the choice of the associate. To help people better manage their mental and emotional wellbeing, we’ve also hosted regular Quality of Life webinars, inviting experts on wellbeing, remote work and mental health to share tips and advice. Online resources and guides on a range of topics are also on hand to help people manage their physical and mental well-being.

Work at home but never alone :

We continue to promote healthy collective lifestyle such as sport sessions, yoga classes provided to our associates and their families by specialized coaches. To help people cope with the constraints of the lockdown, we launched a diverse programme of cultural, artisitic and entertainment events in order to keep our teams connected socially as well as professionally and maintain group cohesion. We also promote collaboration through our internal social network to help our associates connect, build communities, and be together.

We have also rolled out a remote working guide to provide support for associates and managers as they navigate remote working, including some ‘golden rules’ of collaboration & remote management.

We’ve also reinforced virtual trainings to ensure associate development continues, even as many of us stay home. We’ve launched new trainings to collaborate and engage team remotely. We are commited to our associates well-being, because we know that every individual experience matters, weekly pulse surveys and other measures are used to collect feedback and help colleagues know that we are here for them, listening and taking actions.

Honest Communication & Collective Intelligence, the glue that bonds our people all over the world :

Across OCP, we’re in constant communication to maintain our strong bonds worldwide and minimise disruption. To do this, we have reinforced our communications through newsletters, flash news, testimonials and much more.

Several ways of recognizing our people’s efforts during this crisis has been launched, such as a series of short capsules celebrating those working despite the dangers and constraints on the ground, along with a range of virtual events & initiatives.

We have also set weekly exchange sessions for our associates animated by our HR Business partners and leadership in order to nurture the links and answer various concerns and address together the subjects that interest them. The exchange sessions are an opportunity for our people to share stories, support each other, celebrate everyday events and enjoy a moment with colleagues like before!

All our well-being programs are enriched and co-constructed with our associates through le ’Mouvement[2] ’situations & our iterative and open dialogues ’ 1 Pacte[3]’.Our people are continuously envolved to drive the evolution of our practices as well as the services we offer.

I believe that quality of life is the next frontier of performance in the workplace to drive people’s engagement. Quite simply, if you invest in your people, you will see a positive impact on performance, whether it be customer satisfaction, associates innovation or cost efficiency. Many businesses are starting to recognise that, in order to attract and retain talent, they must do more for the women and men of their organisation.

Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that well-being is more than just a state of mind or a piece of framework. It’s about genuinely caring for people on a corporate level, and empowering managers and associates to be the role models and multipliers of the spirit of the well-being, we’re all seeking for !

I hope you and your loved ones have a Happy Wellness day and look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I would like to thank you Faris Derrij and the teams for your efforts, responsiveness, and innovation during the epidemic, which has been strongly observed in the field. Indeed, as an OCP associate, I have been able to benefit from a rich and useful program at several levels. Proud to be a part of a group with strong leadership.
