REDUCTION AND RATIONING OF WATER CONSUMPTION?

The use of a high-tech plant for the treatment and purification of wastewater allowed us to achieve excellent results and receive the authorization for the donation of treated water to local agricultural production.?

We aim to improve even more our performance about our water consumption impact. As a matter of fact, thanks to the collaboration with prestigious university research institutes,?we will have even more efficient plants in terms of water rationing and wastewater treatment, by 2030.

VALORIZATION OF BY-PRODUCTS AND PROPER WASTE MANAGEMENT?

Within our factories,?many actions have been launched in order to valorize by-products coming from the peeling process, with their consequent application in multiple sectors including food, nutraceutical and cosmetic production.

PRODUCTION OF SUSTAINABLE ENERGY

At Alfrus,?we work daily to reduce energy consumption in our almond peeling and drying processes.?

Moreover, the practice of re-using our by-products, such as the integuments of processed almonds, allow us to generate a considerable amount of clean and sustainable energy.?We chose to allocate the tegument that we obtain from almonds’ peeling every day to the production of biogas, delivering them to an external company.

Our plants are increasingly focused on technologies and machines with low energy consumption. By 2023 we will complete the construction of a 2 Mw photovoltaic system, further rationing our energy consumption through renewable energy sources.

We believe that knowing about where the raw material comes from and how it has been cultivated allows companies and consumers to make the right decisions for their health and environmental impact, activating an endless cycle of well-being.

The recent partnership with Pomona Farming, a leading business in the cultivation of almonds on a global scale which has been engaged for years in the implementation of an integrated agriculture,?allows us to offer our customers the total traceability of the supply chain, in addition to the unmistakable quality of raw material.?

From the selection of certified and qualified suppliers to the arrival at Alfrus.?We track and record every almond entering our factories throughout the entire processing. For a complete, 100% traceable, safe and sustainable supply chain.
