Our own time and place

Listening again to J Drew Lanham’s evocative poem yesterday reminded me that we only have our own time and place.

Even though sometimes we’d rather look anywhere else but here and now.

Yet this is where we are called to be. It’s where we can do our most fruitful work.

And bring all that we are. Because all of us, our multitudes, matter.

Otherwise, just what is the story we are telling ourselves?
