Our November Mission

The past few years have been extremely tough for everybody.

The number of men experiencing suicidal thoughts has reached an all time high, and Teesside is grappling with one of the highest suicide rates in the UK. Globally, on average, a man dies by suicide every 60 seconds.

Prioritising mental health has never been more important.

Huge is change is needed right now, and we want to make Learning Curve Group a catalyst for that change no matter what your industry.

That’s why for Men’s Health Awareness Month, we’re using the power of education to battle men’s mental ill-health. In partnership with If U Care Share, a North East based charity committed to preventing, intervening and supporting those bereaved by suicide, we are aiming to enrol 60 people per week in the Tees Valley onto our Level 2 Awareness of Men’s Mental Health Problems qualification.

We are working with our employer partners to get involved and bring staff together to raise awareness of men’s mental health in their workplaces.

We want to leverage our expertise in providing high-quality education to raise awareness of men’s mental health problems and reduce the stigma surrounding them. We want to support individuals, businesses and society at large.

We truly believe that education is a powerful tool for creating awareness and creating a more inclusive and supportive world.

What makes our mission even more special is that the course is fully funded for everyone living in the Tees Valley, which includes Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees.

We are proud to partner with If U Care Share, whose mission is to save lives, support communities and, prevent suicide. We found a perfect partnership as they strive to transform lives, just as we do at Learning Curve Group.

For every individual who enrols onto the L2 Awareness of Men’s Mental Health Problems qualification, we will donate ￡10 from our LCG Charity Foundation to If U Care Share. This donation will provide someone in suicidal crisis with resources such as alternative relaxation and stress relief products. The online course covers a wide range of mental health issues that can affect men, including depression, stress, anxiety, and PTSD. Learners will gain an insight into the signs, symptoms, and triggers of poor mental health as well as the differences in how come mental health conditions present themselves differently in men and women.

We believe that through our partnership with If U Care Share and this challenge, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by men's mental health problems. Education is the key to awareness-building, and we are dedicated to transforming lives through learning.
