Our new approach to becoming your retirement partner
In the super sector, 2024 has already seen first moving superfunds implementing retirement income strategies, as mandated by the Retirement Income Covenant. And we’re proud to be one of the first.
Several years of research underpinned our Retirement Income Strategy. We spent a lot of time with Australian Public Service (APS) workers and Australian Defence Force (ADF) members, understanding how they define a comfortable and happy retirement, as well as their financial circumstances.
It led us to developing and launching a set of unique retirement profiles and corresponding income solutions, which are based on common circumstances facing APS and ADF workers and can be mapped to members’ super accounts.
Like other funds, we’ve also recently launched a new annuities option, which will provide consistent income to ADF and APS workers regardless of their superannuation balance or market movements and reduces the risk of them outliving their savings.
But unlike other funds, our annuities option is grounded in a 100-year heritage as an administrator of Direct Benefit schemes, which are known for their similar proposition of delivering consistent, reliable income.
With our Retirement Income Strategy, we aim to simplify financial decisions, provide tailored solutions, and take care of the heavy lifting when it comes to superannuation and income planning. By streamlining these aspects of retirement, CSC enables members to focus on the more personal elements of their post-work life, such as their health and happiness. It is components such as these that aim to reduce the cognitive load on our customers.?
But we don’t want to stop there. As CSC continues to roll-out retirement solutions, we’re exploring partnerships with other providers to deliver a truly comprehensive offering for. We’re already partnered with AIA, providing support to workers on topics such as mental health and menopause. Its partnerships like these we are hoping to expand, with support to customers on their journey towards retirement.
Becoming a retirement partner to our members means being there at every step—whether it is helping members understand their financial options, reducing administrative burdens, or supporting them as they navigate the emotional and social challenges of this new life stage. Our Retirement Income Strategy also offers a human element, with both self-service and assisted expert advice available.
Our goal is to ensure that retirement is not seen as an end, but as a fulfilling new chapter, where members are supported in every aspect of their wellbeing.
By focusing not only on financial stability but also on holistic wellbeing, we are redefining what it means to be a retirement partner. We want to make retirement not just secure, but a time of life that is truly enjoyed.
