How much time have you left?

In a developed country, a 50-year-old is expected to live another 30 years.?Given that we spend 8 hours at work and 8 hours asleep, we are left with 8 hours per day for all other activities (including commuting, shopping etc.) rest and fun.?Thus, only 1/3 of that actually "belongs to us."?

Using the X/3?formula below,?you can calculate how much personal time you have left (if everything goes according to plan).

X = Time remaining on this planet (Life Expectancy - Your age).?

For instance, if you are 50 years old: 80 - 50 / 3 = 10 years of personal time left!

For a 20-year-old: 80 - 20 / 3 = 20 years!

You may wish to check the?Death clock?or the?Mortality extension.

What will you do to ensure that you make the most of your remaining personal time?
What will you NOT do anymore?

... I better stop typing and do something more fun!?

A great way to encourage focus, Angelos. For me it took a health scare to start thinking like this. Oddly enough I now "waste" a lot more time on time-consuming hobbies and live much more in the moment. I give up on lost causes more readily and try to future-proof worthwhile projects so they do not rely on my input to continue. When faced with choices, I always ask myself: "How many more opportunities might I have to do this?".
