Celebrating the success of our Grand Gesture competition for Payroll Giving Month
As many of you know, February was Payroll Giving Month, which is a wonderful time for our sector to get the spotlight. We were super proud to launch our 'Grand Gesture' competition this February! We made a grand gesture and gave away £1,000 to one lucky person and an extra £1,000 to the winner's chosen charity (or charities).
Thank you to all those that got involved in Payroll Giving Month, and our competition. We were thrilled to have so much engagement; during the month we raised £455,947 (in annual donations) for 300 different charities!
Helen Butler from Beaverbrooks was the lucky winner and was so delighted to win. Helen gives through Payroll Giving to two charities close to her heart - so split the £1000 equally between these two great causes.
Helen says:
“I am absolutely stunned and overjoyed with the news, and thrilled that the donation can be made to my chosen charities Mencap and MS Society, thank you Hands On Payroll Giving for the Grand Gesture!”
Some of our favourite stats from the month:
? There were 25% more joiners to Payroll Giving this February compared to last year (and 105% more compared to 2022!).
? We raised an amazing £455,947 (in annual donations) for 300 different charities which is up by 40% compared to last year (and 161% compared to 2022).
? We saw over 1,200 entries to the competition!
? The campaign was shared with more than 100 employer clients and 120 charity clients.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part and spread the word. You're all amazing. And congratulations again to Helen!

Have you improved your Payroll Giving Quality Mark?
If you're not already familiar, the Payroll Giving Quality Mark is a government-supported accreditation which recognises and rewards organisations of all sizes for offering and promoting Payroll Giving to their employees.
We are proud to support our corporate and charity partners with receiving the accreditation and we are here for them to help with the process.
There are five levels of Quality Mark – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. There are many ways to receive points, for example, organisations are given points for employee participation, paying the admin charges, matching donations, hosting events and running digital promotions. Those who achieve a Quality Mark will also receive a certificate and logo to use on their company materials.
So, how does it work?
? You will receive an email towards the end of the financial year for the relevant information from us (or your Payroll Giving Agency or Professional Fundraising Organisation if it isn't us!).
? You'll then answer a few questions so that we can assess the quality of your Payroll Giving Scheme.
? In late June/early July your Payroll Giving Agency will issue you with your Quality Mark logo and certificate (usually digitally), via the email address you've supplied.
Feel free to reach out if you'd like more info or if you have any questions.
