To Our Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter Support Tribe - $75,000 Raised so far!

To Our Incredible Community

Our Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter Support Tribe!

WOW. Where do we start?!

The incredible work Sue and her support crew in Mallacoota are doing day in day out is going to be made hopefully just a little bit easier by what you have done.

You as a tribe and community of global legends have hit the incredible milestone of $75,000!!!! And it all started here with you guys on Linkedin on Saturday.

Truly moving and appreciated.

Sue and the team have had power, internet and communication intermittent over the past few days and the team has been faced with the most challenging crisis.

If you haven't had a chance to watch A Current Affair on Tuesday to see this incredible video to see just how demanding the front line of this crisis is, please do so.

We know that every cent you have helped raised will be truly, greatly appreciated.

We are personally blown away by the incredible generosity of the planet. The global community is stepping up, far and wide for many national and micro crisis relief campaigns.

Our particular mission over the coming days will be to raise more and more awareness of the Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter and raise as much money as humanly possible.

We have this morning increased that the campaign to $100,000 as the challenges faced in caring for the wildlife, in and around the region, only continues to increase.

I would also like to reconfirm that the Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter, particularly the bank account nominated by Sue Johns will be the only recipient of the funds raised on this campaign. We started this campaign for the Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter and we will ensure as much money is raised for them.

Over the coming days we will work to share as many insights from the team as possible, please just understand they are battling right now, working day and night and this will only continue.

By way of the numbers, we have had over 1,300 donors, over 4,200 campaign shares, thousands of comments and likes of support. You as the incredible humans that you are have donated an average of around $60 each to the Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter.

Some more, some less. Some because it was all that you had available, others because that’s what you raised in your business collection and others just because you were touched by the resilient and caring people on the front line in Mallacoota tending to our beautiful wildlife in this time of hurt.

Equally as important to the amount raised is the amount of shares for the campaign. The more shares, the more dollars raised.

Currently, the campaign has been shared more than 4,200 times. So please share and share again. Ask your friends to share and share with those around you.

We have personally touched by all of the heartfelt comments and emails sent to this campaign, every comment has been read and every donor will be thanked directly. Every comment will be compiled for Sue and her team to read at some time in the future.

Your compassion and support do not go unnoticed.

This week, as we embark on the next climb ahead, I would like to leave you with the touching story of Harley Davies.

Harley celebrated his 9th Birthday on Tuesday. I’m not sure where, but he had a party. And all of his friends attended. But to his party Harley’s friends did not bring presents, not because they didn’t want to, but because Harley asked them to donate to this campaign instead.

You can read the amazing comments by Harley’s mum, Harley’s friends, and everyone else who has commented or left a message of support in this campaign. Harley’s story is just one of them that is inspiring our nation.

To you Harley, we wish you Happy Birthday and say good on you mate!

To Sue, Patrick, the Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter Volunteers, the Mallacoota Community, residents and visitors we are here supporting you and thinking of you.

And finally to you, those in our incredible global Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter Support Tribe, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We’re just getting started.

Be safe and be incredible,

Leon Hayes
