?Global and local trends tell us that organisations that consciously and deliberately seek to be custodians of their universes, including their environments, communities, employees, and the clients they have committed to serve, have found increased profitability over time. Under the care umbrella, these businesses have continuously maintained excellent performance momentum in their organisations. The World Economic Forum 2023 mentioned, "...firms that have received awards for their health, safety and well-being initiatives had a 115% growth in earnings per share compared with the 27% earnings per share seen in their?competitors '. It stands to reason that prioritising employee health and well-being gives a competitive business advantage."

As leaders within our industry, we can agree that caring is not always the easiest choice. More often than not, the care strategy is considered 'cheesy' or even a far cry from hardcore business strategies. Yet, it has proven to deliver on business and organisational growth. "Research?by Deutsche Bank revealed that companies with high ESG ratings outperformed the market in the medium (5 years) and the long term (5-10 years). In support of findings, a 2021?Morningstar U.S. Sustainability Leaders Index report found that companies with the best ESG scores returned 33.3% higher over one year, beating the broader US market by more than 8%. A?2020 study by Accenture gives an update on these findings, concluding that companies with high ratings for ESG performance enjoyed average operating margins that were 3.7x higher than those of lower ESG performers. This meant such companies outpaced poorer ESG performers by 2.6 times. On top of this, reports show companies in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership?substantially outperformed the FTSE Global 500 companies.?
