Excerpts from the Spatial Computing segment:
Tamil Nadu’s aspiration to become a trillion-dollar economy by 2030 hinges on harnessing the power of digital transformation. As the FICCI DT8 conference rightly emphasizes, technologies like AI, electronics hardware, telecom, and e-governance are crucial drivers of this transformation. However, one emerging technology that holds immense, yet often untapped, potential for the state is Virtual Reality (VR) / Spatial Computing, an even broader technical terminology Extended Reality (XR) encompassing Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) & Mixed Reality (MR).
XR’s ability to create immersive, interactive experiences is revolutionizing industries globally, and Tamil Nadu is uniquely positioned to leverage this technology to accelerate its economic growth. With a strong manufacturing base, rich cultural heritage, and a skilled workforce, the state can harness VR / AR in sectors ranging from industrial training to tourism and education. This knowledge paper will delve into the specific ways XR can drive economic value in Tamil Nadu, ultimately contributing to the realization of its trillion-dollar economy dream. Goldman Sachs estimates that the global VR market will reach $80 billion by 2025, underscoring the economic significance of this rapidly growing technology.

Though achieving a Trillion Dollar Economy for the state might seem an audacious goal, but with the right efforts, policies and with a great coordination from different stakeholders across the state, it will soon become a reality
