Our future is determined by choices we make today rather by chances!.

On the eve of independence day of India -15th august

The ability to choose is an amazing powerful gift human beings possess!. Denis Waitley said “There are two primary choices in life” to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.”

In order to truly understand the objective of this post, let us examine history, great accomplishments and the current popular inspiring stories of our times. Almost each and every single person had to make a very difficult choice against popular thinking, extreme criticism, severe opposition and unthinkable obstacles. Yet, each of these individuals made their choice that was right, persevered and accomplished great things.

Nelson Mandela’s struggle to abolish Apartheid, Martin Luther King’s fight for Civil Rights, Winston Churchill of World War II for his refusal to give in even when things were going badly and many others who relentlessly chose a path of courage, dedication , devotions for a greater cause .

In Indian history the Noble prince Siddhartha chose to give up his royal luxuries life to find greater meaning in life for teaching his philosophy of enlightenment and peace.

Guru Nanak:Spiritual guru and founder of Sikhism (c.560BC – c 460BC) – was born in a Hindu family, but taught God was beyond religious distinction and sought to teach that God was in all.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose: Raised a united Indian army (INA) of all religious faiths in an attempt to win independence for India.

Bal Gangadhar Tilak (1856 – 1920) prominent leader of the Indian nationalist cause.

Mahatma Gandhi: Struggled for a peaceful overthrow of British rule and resolve and commitment to independence.

Narendra Modi: Current Prime Minister of India since 2014, promised and marching on successfully to revitalize India economically and politically.

These are only few illustrations mentioned here and the list is endless where we could see the courage to choose and stand by what they believed to be right regardless of what the consequences would be.

There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. And, of course when faced with the unknown, most of us prefer to turn around and go back.

Famous writer Peter Drucker says “We are always given these options and choices to choose from in almost every aspect of our life”

Greatness has never been served on a silver platter, but it has only been earned by the choices made against all odds with the will”.

It is the choice we make that makes the difference in our lives!

Actions have always been speaking louder than words. Indeed, choices we have made are determining our future, including near future (!) Point is whether we have ability to study the choices we made and effects we are bearing. We need to do this every day !

Very good article sir ..... !!

One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes... and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.
