Our First Annual Cheers to CVC!
The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County, Inc.
Bringing Healing and Hope to Chester County
We celebrated a successful and spirited evening on July 17, 2024, with our 'Cheers to CVC' fundraising event at Locust Lane Craft Brewery. The highlight of the evening was the first-ever Chief of Police Bartending Competition, which brought together community leaders, law enforcement, and supporters in a unique and fun-filled fundraiser.
The event saw Chief Lou Marcelli of Malvern Borough, Chief Michael Carroll of West Goshen Township, and CVC Board Member Chief Josh Lee of West Chester Borough stepping behind the bar, showcasing their bartending skills and competing to raise the most tips, all in support of the vital services provided by CVC. The atmosphere was electric, with enthusiastic attendees cheering on their favorite Chief and contributing generously to the cause. ?The Chiefs were joined by celebrity bartenders District Attorney Chris De Barrena-Sarobe, First Deputy District Attorney Erin O’Brien, Chad Maloney, CVC Board Member PJ Gallo and CVC Board Member Lisa Yackel.? The group raised just over $3800 in cash tips in three hours!? The competition was fierce, but all in good fun, highlighting the camaraderie and community spirit that defines Chester County.
The First Ever Chief of Police Bartender Champion was Chief Lou Marcelli of Malvern Borough and he shared about the event, “I was honored to be invited to participate in the this exciting and fun event for CVC.? Supporting this cause is extremely important as it provides essential resources and support to those who have endured incredible hardships.? I enjoyed the friendly competition against two Chiefs who I hold in high regard.? Making my victory even more enjoyable. ?Thank you to all who donated to such a great cause!”
All proceeds from the event will go towards the programs and services provided by CVC, including counseling, advocacy, and education for crime victims and their families. The funds raised will help CVC continue to offer these essential services free of charge to those in need.
"We are thrilled with the turnout and the support we received for our first Chief of Police Bartending Competition," said Christine Zaccarelli, CEO of The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. "This event not only brought the community together but also raised significant funds that will directly support victims of crime and our prevention programming. We are grateful to the Chiefs who participated, Locust Lane Craft Brewery for hosting, and everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the evening."
We want to especially thank CVC Board Members Beau Crowding and Lisa Yackel for all they did to make this a great night and their 2024 Community Partner Goldberg, Goldberg, & Maloney!?
We also extend heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, sponsors, and attendees who made the 'Cheers to CVC' event a memorable and impactful evening.? Stay tuned for details about next year’s competition!
