Our Finest Hour
“This could be our finest hour.” My Recruiting team is probably sick of hearing me say this. My family is sick of hearing me say this. My dog might even be sick of hearing me say this. It’s true, though.
My company, Kimco Facility Services, is a janitorial services company and our employees are on the front lines of cleaning offices, schools, hospitals, and retail stores. We’re cleaning in the midst of all of this and we’ll clean again once America is free to return to normal life. You’ll want to know that your office has had a deep clean before you return, right? You’ll want reassurances that your favorite stores and restaurants have been thoroughly cleaned before you walk back in to buy a new pair of shoes or meet family and friends for a meal, won’t you? Of course you will! Our employees are the people who will make sure that you can have those reassurances.
This the “finest hour” for our Janitors, Floor Techs, Site Supervisors, and Field Management. They’ll help make it safer for you to return to your daily life and get our economy back on track.
This is the “finest hour” for our Recruiters because we’re helping put people to work. The hotel housekeepers who’ve been furloughed, the airline contract workers with no contract, the restaurant workers whose hours have been cut – all of them need jobs and the Janitorial industry is providing jobs. We have project work and regular shifts and our Recruiters are working very hard to get people into new jobs. Kimco is hiring – we have a streamlined hiring process and can put people to work in just a few days.
Make this your “finest hour.” Commit to assisting others. Be a neighbor’s walking buddy – walk on opposite sides of the street and keep each other accountable. Foster a dog or cat – you have the time at home now to do it. Use video conferencing to teach someone a skill (career advice, crafts, public speaking, etc.). Declutter your closets and donate what you can. Volunteer at a food bank. There are lots of ways to help others. Do at least 1 helpful activity every week and this will become your “finest hour,” too.
Join us in making this our “finest hour.”
