Our family supports my cousin who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer

Cancer strikes our family again. This time around, it is my cousin, Jorge Flores (in the blue Dallas Cowboys t-shirt). He was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma in the frontal lobe last week. He grew up in South Texas in Palmview (La Joya ISD). Recently, was working in Hutto\Round Rock area.

I personally was impacted by cancer early in my life at about 8 years old. For two years, my brother, Cris, battled cancer and passed away in 1989. We continued to hear about other family members who were diagnosed with cancer through the years. But, nothing has been close to what we experience with my brother.

Learning about my cousin, Jorge's diagnosis brought back a lot of memories of the struggle that my family endured. As one of 8 children, I cannot imagine what my parents went through. Even with our experience with Evie, which is unimaginable even now, with Toby Williams , I still feel pain when I hear about cancer.

I wanted to share what Jorge's siblings (my cousins) have been posting on Facebook about him. Jorge will have a long road ahead of him but we want to pray and support him the best we can. So, I am sharing his story.

From his brother, Juan Martin - "This past week we were shocked with the news that my Brother Jorge has stage 4 brain cancer. Asking friends and family for your donations. Even if you do not donate, a word or encouragement to Jorge A Flores. He determine to fight this and he’s faith in Jesus Christ will see that through."

From his sister, Maria (she lost a son due to cancer) - "When it comes to cancer, we understand that finding the right words can be a challenge. Whether you or a loved one is going through a cancer journey, learning how to give and ask for support can take time. We are here now asking your support either by contributing, or words of encouragement, or just by being there for my beloved brother Jorge A Flores (Dark Blue shirt). Anyone that has come across him or has had the privilege of meeting him, knows the kind of person he is and the great huge heart he has. Our family will deeply appreciate any help."

“Cancer cannot cripple love, it cannot shatter hope, it cannot conquer the spirit.”

From his brother, Jesus - "They say that Faith moves mountains and that everything is possible through Our Lord Jesus Christ! Today I ask you dear family, friends and brothers of Faith to unite in a good cause to support one of my brothers, Jorge A Flores in his battle against cancer! Your donations will be a great help! Let's pray for him, and that the Blessing of God the Father be with you always!"

From his sister, Claudia - "We have been sadden with the news we received this past week, but we stand together as a family supporting every decision my brother has taken with his diagnosis. Jorge has been a very hard working person and has always helped out whoever has needed. He also has faith and that he will overcome this terrible disease. Even if you don’t donate please leave some good word of wisdom for him and my whole family."

If there is anything you can do to help, share, like, or comment words of encouragement, I will gladly share it with him.

Sorry to read this about your cousin Irene W. My friend was diagnosed with brain cancer in December 2021. Although she hasn't beaten it yet, thankfully, she's doing really well and her tumour is still stable
