After the pandemic, we expanded our operations to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), leveraging the city's talent pool and STPI benefits. Our initial success was promising, attracting skilled professionals and completing large projects using cutting-edge technologies.
We spent time doing research on local IT companies. We made our collection public for people's benefit. Initially we were under the impression only a handful full companies were there but slowly as we got the resume and details it went to more than 100 companies. Feel free to check the list...https://www.redbytes.in/it-companies-in-aurangabad/
However, we soon realized that local talent lacked exposure to client interactions and polished communication skills, typical of metro cities, of course, talents in metro cities are migrants from similar cities. People from non-IT cities move to the metro for better opportunities so you don’t have many options within the non-IT cities than to hire and groom people apart from right-fit talent that are already on board.
Other than IT companies we researched on things that would help attract and also spread awareness to choose this city as their workplace...https://www.cloudxperte.com/driving-the-tech-revolution-how-aurangabad-is-set-to-become-indias-next-it-hub/
Now why share experience, cause we are at a junction where we did optimisation starting this year, had to lay off people in order to move ahead, most of the companies go through this process. Depending on financial performance and affordability.?
When you hire, there is misjudgment, people have environmental issues impacting productivity and also elements whom you don’t want as they are a nuisance and not fit for long term goals.

In places like Aurangabad / Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar one thing that we realized now is that there is not much opportunity available. As a result few people end up with no preferred options and given time in hand start building a negative narration about the organization instead of upskill or moving to other cities. Negative narratives from former employees impact reputation. Here is a link https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/siddiquiaatif_employeeexperience-workplaceethics-redbytessoftware-activity-7244744267145871360-dTSR?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop of one such conversion where once employed people now spew out and vent to impact organization's reputation and not look within, improve and move ahead in life.?
Not many companies from other cities will risk setting up operations in a city which is not IT. Instead of promoting and showcasing talent availability, These people intend to hurt the reputation of existing companies to shut down and leave. If jobs are coming down to their home city it will benefit locals, how long should people migrate and leave near and dear ones to move and struggle in big cities. A lot depends on maturity and broad minded thinking.??
To conclude, a city or region or geography level of patriotism(“my city”) is needed, a mindset to compete with other cities and bring job opportunities to the home city. India did bring a lot of jobs offshore, now time to ensure parity and distribute offshore jobs across cities and not just concentrate in the metro. Do we need people from outside local geography to think and work towards it? Is there any local government support? Are there any incentives for companies to take risks? Are there education institutes that mentor and promote talent development to work towards this goal??
