Our Erasmus+ project - HLT.digital
the Bridge - English Language Centre, s.r.o.
An EAQUALS accredited English language training centre providing high quality, professional English language courses.
In 2022 we were granted Erasmus+ grant and our work on Humanistic Language Teaching (HLT) begun. HLT is an approach that values the whole person in the learning process.
Our project Hlt.digital
The idea for this project emerged from discussions of Klaudia Bednarova and Mario Rinvolucri . Their initial idea was create an online depository of information on prominent HLT practitioners such as Rob Bolitho, Paul Davis, Claudia Ferradas, Alan Maley, John Morgan, Herbert Puchta, Alan Pulverness, Carl Rogers, Gertrude Moskowitz, Bonnie Tsai, Adrian Underhill, Andrew Wright and many many others. Most of these individuals were very active in teaching, creating activities, and publishing their ideas prior to the digital era and Hlt.digital aims to digitize information about their work and bring it to a wider audience.
Our team members from The Bridge - Barbora Gecseová and Klaudia Bednárová - are collaborating with fellow teachers Ondrej Koscik , Lucia Matejovie , Ben Gwillim , Mgr. Veronika Ivan?íková , Samruddhi Patre , Simona Bajáková as well as European partners The London School Srl in Schio, Italy, @EOI La Orotava in Tenerife, @International College in Sopot, Poland, and SWAN COMMUNICATION LIMITED in Great Britain.
So what's happening in the project? There are three main activities, or outputs as we call them in the project.
1, depository of HTL practitioners profiles
领英推荐
2, video interviews with the HLT practitioners
3, a paper archive of Mario Rinvolucri, which needs sorting and preparing for digitization
Our final product is a website, that will serve as gate to information about HLT and HLT practitioners. We want to invite teachers and teacher trainers to learn more about this important times in ELT. We want to inspire to read and learn beyond our website. We believe 21st Centure calls for teachers that have HLT approach in their DNA.
We recently presented the project to the teaching public at The Bridge Teachers' Day Conference.
Are you interested in participating in the project? We welcome anyone who wants to humanize their language teaching! You can get involved in the current stage and work directly with the team and the practitioners, or wait for the hlt.digital webspace. There, you will have the opportunity to participate in tagging & organising the materials and discussing their use in your classroom or research.

1 年This is wonderful. For years my work has focused on the humanistic approach to education and interconnectedness with wellbeing. Lovely to see centres recognising the importance of holistic approaches.
