Is it our duty to Donate?
As human beings, we all have an obligation to help others in need. Donating to those less fortunate is one way we can fulfil this responsibility. Instead of thinking that our small contribution won't make a difference, we need to recognize the power of giving. Consider this: by donating just 15 rupees (the price of a samosa), we can create a chain reaction of generosity that can change lives. If 100 people donate 15 rupees each, that's 1500 rupees, enough to feed 16 orphans three meals a day.
This is the power of giving, and it's something that's deeply ingrained in our culture and religion. According to the Rig Veda, giving food to those in need is one of the ten virtuous acts, and it's said that 'those who do so receive the blessings of God and the friendship of even their enemies'. Our history is filled with examples of great donors like Karna, Raja Bali, and Maharaj Shivi, who gave everything they had to help others.
We may not be able to give as much as they did, but we can still make a difference. By donating even a small amount, we can help those in need and create a chain reaction of generosity that can change lives.
Now I recall a phrase that goes something like this: "ek ke karne se kya fark padta hai, par ek-ek ke karne se fark padta hai" and do our part to make the world a better place.
