Our Daily Bread

"Opportunities don't happen, you create them." - Chris Grosser

There are FIVE forms of wealth; Money, Time, Satisfaction, Relationships and Health. All are important to living a truly wealthy life.

Your willingness and ability to increase one or more for others will determine the level of your prosperity.

This is true of individuals and organizations.

The organizations who will thrive in the modern economy are those who treat their employees as internal customers.

It's obvious to everyone that businesses need to attract customers to thrive.

As important for most companies in most industries is having customers buy from you repeatedly. And, to tell their friends, family and colleagues about having a good experience doing business with you.

So, most companies invest much time, effort and money to attract and keep customers.

Here are some humorous examples of attempts to attract customers. ??

What if the same effort was put into attracting - and retaining - employees?

This week's idea is a way to do just that with FAR less time and expense.

Our Daily Bread

Note: This idea uses restaurants as an example workplace but can easily be modified for many industries.

At the end of each business day, draw a name of one of your servers at random from all who worked that day.?

Award the person chosen a bonus equal to a portion of their largest customer check that day.?

In a non-restaurant setting, this micro-bonus could be a fixed dollar amount.

Even an amount as small as $10 will be effective. The most important thing is the emotional impact of winning and the opportunity to win that is available to all.

The drawing should be done on a live stream video so even those who aren’t there in person can see the drawing.

An added benefit of doing this via live stream is the drawing videos can be recorded.

Those recordings can be viewed by anyone who did not see the drawing live. More importantly, they provide evidence of your company culture and can be easily shared.?

They give your current employees a way to brag about what a great place they work and will make a terrific recruiting tool to help attract new talent to your company.

Ideally, these micro-bonuses should be given to the winner on the spot. The act of putting cash into someone's hand maximizes the emotion of the moment and makes this dramatically more impactful.?

Not only will this incentivize your servers to fully engage with all parties, it will help you attract and retain the best servers.?

Optional: If you want, a condition of qualifying for the micro-bonus could be that the winner must have shown up on time that day and worked all their assigned hours.?

IF you do this, it is important to be light hearted in your approach to it. You don't want it to come off as onerous.

The expense associated with providing these daily micro-bonuses will be more than offset by significantly higher checks. Or, in the case of non-restaurant employees, higher overall productivity and less absenteeism.

This simple strategy enhances the money and satisfaction aspects of wealth for your employees. And, increases the relationships form of wealth for both of you.

What are your thoughts?

Ninja Weight Loss Secrets

What if I told you that you don’t have to eat breakfast to be healthy and lose weight? According to research in the New England Journal of medicine, the saying 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day' is a myth.

The choices we make in nutrition will help us age better and prevent disease. And the best news is you don’t have to gain weight and fall apart as you get older.

Success in weight loss isn’t just about what you eat but when you eat. Intermittent Fasting is a big weight loss secret that has been working for the last four years for my clients and me with massive success.

Here are three ways to crush your health goals and lose weight with Keto and Intermittent Fasting.

Step 1

Skip breakfast and push your first meal 5-6 hours after you wake up. Your body responds by digging into its fat stores for energy.

Step 2

Stay busy during your fast. Focus on getting stuff done. That way you’ll have less time to worry about food and hunger.

Step 3

If you are fasting, you need to stay really hydrated. Often times people mistake the sensation of thirst for hunger. So staying really hydrated helps you eliminate a lot of those extra hunger pangs.

Suggestions on What to Eat

A keto diet is well known for being a low-carb diet where the body produces ketones in the liver to be used as energy.

On the average high carbohydrate diet practiced by many, the body will use glucose as its main form of energy. Your fats are not needed and are therefore stored.

By lowering the intake of carbs, the body is induced into a state known as ketosis.?

The end goal of maintaining a low-carb diet?is for your body to be a fat-burning machine; even at rest. Take away starchy carbs, and your body will begin to burn fat as fuel. Optimal ketone levels offer many health, weight loss, and physical, and mental performance benefits.

Here is what you’ll accomplish:

1. Weight Loss

2. Controlled Blood Sugar

3. Mental Focus: Many people use the ketogenic diet specifically for increased mental performance.

4. Increased Energy & Normalized Hunger: By giving your body a better and more reliable energy source, you will feel more energized during the day.

5. Improved Cholesterol & Blood Pressure levels

?The old saying is true: there is no wealth without health!
