Release of the 2024 Reynolds American Community Engagement Summary

We recently released our 2024 Community Engagement Summary, recapping partnerships, employee-led volunteerism, and giving through corporate philanthropy, Reynolds American Foundation , Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company Foundation, and the American Snuff Co. Trust for the calendar year.

Rooted in 150 years of history, our community engagement efforts deliver a mix of programs and services that reflect our current community priorities through:

?? Supporting the basic human needs of people

?? Protecting and restoring natural resources to improve the future of our planet; and,

?? Advancing prosperity for all.

Winston-Salem Mayoral Proclamation and Historic Marker Unveiling

On February 11th, we were joined by elected officials, including Steve Troxler , North Carolina Agriculture Commissioner, and community leaders to mark the 150th anniversary of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with the unveiling of a historic marker at the site of “The Little Red Factory,” the original production facility where Richard Joshua (R.J.) Reynolds started R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1875.

To acknowledge the significant milestone, Annette Scippio, Winston-Salem Councilmember, issued a proclamation on behalf of Mayor Allen Joines, declaring February 11, 2025, as Reynolds 150th Celebration Day in Winston-Salem, recognizing the organization’s long-standing presence and contributions to the local community, Triad region, and the state of North Carolina.

“This anniversary is a pivotal moment to reflect on our organization’s history, celebrate our present achievements, and reaffirm our focus on creating a future for the next 150 years - not just for the Reynolds organization but for our entire community.” – David Waterfield, President and CEO of Reynolds American Inc.
