Our Condolences to the Family of Rev. Tony Jarvis

My wife, Mei Chyten, and I send along our condolences to the family of Rev. Tony Jarvis, longtime headmaster of the Roxbury Latin School. While I only met Rev. Jarvis one or two times, I was always aware of his influence and his deep caring concern for the welfare of all his students. To say that Rev. Jarvis ran a tight ship at Roxbury Latin would be a vast understatement, however there is no one within 1000 miles of Roxbury Latin that did not hold the deepest respect for him.
Among all the things Rev. Jarvis was famous for, I came to know him as the man who never canceled classes due to snow. I know this because I ran the SAT class at Roxbury Latin for over a decade. We never canceled either. Except that there was that one time when every weatherman in Boston predicted a huge three-foot snowstorm that Rev. Jarvis finally relented and agreed to cancel school the next day. When the snowstorm never came, he vowed to never, ever, cancel classes again!
Rev. Jarvis, you were a great man and a legend in the private school world. May you rest in peace, and may your family live all their days with your strength, your mastery over private education, and all that you have done for tens of thousands of students, in their memories.
Respectfully,
Neil and Mei Chyten CEO and Vice President of NC Global Education, Inc.
