Our community space was once again filled up with life during the 5th HeiTED workshop

We organized the 5th edition of our HeiTED workshop series and on 14th September the Community Space and the online broadcasting was filled up with our co-workers. The event serves as a platform for HEITEC Hungary and DMG MORI HEITEC Digital employees to share their knowledge internally to broaden the common domain know-how. During the event we had the chance to listen to intriguing presentations and to an eye-opening round table discussion.

Our first speaker, Zsolt Makaró was reflecting on an ever urging topic of detecting engineering and designs flaws in the automotive industry with electrical components.

The presentation revealed that today's mobility devices are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated, but complexity also brings the possibility of design flaws. These engineering errors can sometimes have fatal consequences, so detecting them during development is key. Zsolt provided insight in a simple and explanatory way on the debugging methods used by HEITEC Hungary in the development process.

The second presenter, Peter Palfy brought our attention on a specific encryption methodology he developed.

Our colleague gave us a deep dive into the technical details of encryption methods and the current state of the eternal duel between encryption and decryption efforts.? We gained practical knowledge on what steps to take to secure our delicate information from unauthorized access and harmful intent.

Our last presenter, Attila Hannibál brought a truly colourful subject for the audience and shed light on the practicalities of an electro spectrometer device.

Attila explained in a simple, but highly professional and scientific way the concept of light spectrum measurement, the most significant usage areas, and our involvement in a development process. During the presentation we learned how early scholars were experimenting with light measurement and how it led to today’s modern equipment which we can use for easily identifying substances.

After the presentation we formed a round table discussion unfolding the different security risks in IT development projects. Our colleagues, Attila Horvath , Roland Ménesi , Márton Kungli , Alex Kállai debated on the different aspects of mitigating security risks, using the ISTQB framework.

Our discussion was orbiting around real-life examples within the industry while also reflecting on our own projects. We discussed on what kind of measures we take on mitigating security risks and how we will further strengthen our ability in doing so.?

As a conclusion of the event, we run a short quiz while the hot pizza and the cold beer arrived to give way for the open discussion and socializing.
