Big thank you for taking the time to check out my newsletter!

I’m back after a long cleanse from posting on social media. Like anyone else, posting can feel like a heavy lift.

Why?

Writing fatigue, writer’s block, feeling uninspired, and my list can go on. But, the reality is I took time to reassess the community I want to establish, build, and nurture.

Like you, I’m here to meet people, share ideas, challenge each other to grow, build trust, and eventually do business.

That’s right, I’m not just here to post every day (which I’m realizing is unattainable for me personally). I want to make money, have fun, and provide value/impact to people and businesses.

Too many conversations focus on the hard sell, rush past establishing relationships, and make the exchange transactional.

That doesn’t speak to me and if you’re nodding your head, you’re in the right place.

Let me re-introduce myself.

I’m Humberto Garcia, solopreneur, dad of twin girls, happily married, and the founder of Ethos Consultancy.

Here’s what I stand for and how I show up in my company:

Mission – enhance the human experience of 100 companies for operational sustainability

Vision – build company environments where you can be authentically you

Values

Trust…because without it, how do we build together

Transparency…real conversations to grow personally and professionally

Compassion…our deliberate openness to serve our community

Too personal, that’s the point!

I’ve seen too many instances where companies make you believe there’s a separation of your personal self and professional self.

As if a magical barrier exists where we suddenly forget who we are inside the walls of companies.

(Think Severance, haven’t seen it yet, but it’s on my list)

DISCLAIMER – I’m not an HR person, no experience or background

I sat in the operational seat, but through experience, learned people is where it’s at. People run a business, not processes and systems.

Learning how to blend both creates profitable sustainability.

If you haven’t felt it yet, I’m passionate about human behavior at play in our work lives.

We’ll spend an average of 90,000 hours at work over our lifetime.

For context: 5,400,000 minutes, 750 days, 535 weeks, 133 months, or 11 years.

Why wouldn’t we strive to create an environment that inspires us to create, challenges us to grow, and treats us with respect and dignity.
