Our Commitment to Responsible Manufacturing
Centrient Pharmaceuticals
Global B2B leader in sustainable, enzymatic antibiotics, next-generation statins and anti-fungals
When it comes to pharmaceutical manufacturing, emissions of high concentrations of antibiotics from manufacturing sites may contribute to the spread of #AMR. In 2016, we were one of the first pharmaceutical companies to begin the continuous, year-round monitoring of antimicrobial activities in wastewater at all our sites in Europe and beyond.
Last year AMR Industry Alliance published its Antibiotic Manufacturing Standard.?Facilitated by 英国标准协会 , the Standard provides clear guidance to manufacturers in the global antibiotic supply chain to ensure that their antibiotics are made responsibly and within the stringent predicted no-effect concentration (#PNEC) targets, helping to minimise the risk of AMR in the environment. Centrient Pharmaceuticals was the first company to publicly announce 100% compliance with the PNEC targets set by the AMR Industry Alliance for our entire oral antibiotics product range in May 2022.?
The AMR Alliance and BSI are now developing an industry certification scheme, due to be launched in 2023, that will enable antibiotic manufacturers to demonstrate that the wastewater dilution and control requirements of the Antibiotic Manufacturing standard have been satisfied.?
Today we welcome the BSI delegation to our production site in Santa Perpetua, Spain. We take the next step towards our commitment to responsible manufacturing – by participating in the pilot certification scheme.

Good luck with the BSI certification and proud to see that the Centrient Pharmaceuticals team persists to set the industry-standard on what ‘responsible antibiotics manufacturing’ really is. Also thrilling to see the progress the AMR Industry Alliance continues to support in realizing the commitments made in the UNGA Industry Roadmap for Progress on Combating Antimicrobial Resistance (Sep 2016).
