We offer certification in Seven Belt levels. All certification is based upon not only skills and knowledge, but on demonstrated competence in the application of those skills. The competence is determined through the completion of course work, exams and, in the higher levels, through submission of actual project work. Lean Six Sigma belt certifications can be an extremely valuable asset for your personal and professional development, and you will increase your value to any organization, and yourself, with your new skills.
A very powerful feature of Six Sigma is the creation of an infrastructure to assure that performance improvement activities have the necessary resources. Some estimate that failure to provide this infrastructure is the #1 reason why improvement efforts fail. Six Sigma makes improvement and change the full-time job of a small but critical percentage of the organization’s personnel.
Our Lean Six Sigma White Belt has an awareness of Lean Six Sigma and understands basic concepts and terms of Improvement efforts.
Yellow Belt, will have an additional understanding of how projects run; the milestones and the basic tools involved in an improvement from start to finish. Primary problem solving is covered in this module, and these very important individuals are then qualified to do the basic problem solving, on the front lines, required to move from fire fighting, into fire prevention stages.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belts are project leaders capable of forming and facilitating Lean Six Sigma teams and managing projects from concept to completion. Green Belt training consists of a coursework and is conducted in conjunction with improvement projects.
A critical role in any Lean Six Sigma deployment is the role of the project sponsor – the Blue Belt. The sponsor is typically a business or functional leader who will be responsible for supporting multiple improvement teams, clarifying organizational direction, providing resources, removing barriers and working closely with the team to ensure that they stay on track. While the sponsor is not an expert in the specific tools and methods, they have an awareness and have enough knowledge about Lean Six Sigma to guide the teams to success.
Our Purple Belt plays an extremely important role in any improvement effort as the Change Leader. The Purple Belt will learn how to develop others through change, how to understand and benefit from all types of diversities in teams. They will have the skills to work with teams from a human perspective to ensure that improvements are real and remain sustainable.
Candidates for a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt are technically oriented individuals held in high regard by their peers. They are typically actively involved in the process of organizational change and development. Candidates may come from a wide range of disciplines and do not need to be formally trained statisticians or engineers. As part of their training, Six Sigma Black Belts complete coursework that includes advanced statistical analysis and process design tools and will receive one-on-one project coaching from Master Black Belts.
Master Black Belt is the highest level of belt certification and is reserved for the instructor-level expert who has demonstrated skill in not only the application of all Lean Six Sigma tools and methods, but who can also teach and coach others.
