Is Our Children Learning?

A grammatical error from George W. Bush reminds me that when his brother was Governor of Florida they did not change textbooks to imply slavery was a good thing.

Between now and when the only job he will still be able to work is as a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race, is Ron DeSantis racist? Florida is the state where you can kill a baby or a Black man, create "Reasonable Doubt" and get away with it.

Acting like slavery was an internship- let me tell you one skill that was not learned in bondage. Reading. Slave owners made a point to keep slaves as ignorant as possible so they could exploit them any way they could.

Ever seem a diagram of a slave ship? Prisoners probably have more space. Behavior like this reminds me that Ron Desantis will not win the nomination. He might be out of the Presidential race by the next Super Bowl.

One word he uses far too much- almost as much as "Woke" which no white person should use unless they are describing getting out of bed (I woke up at 6:30, for example) is "Indoctrination." Is school anything except indoctrination? Maybe not to the fact that some teachers prefer members of the same sex.

I was aware of one gay teacher. Never heard about his private life. All I recall is his temper. Anger knows no orientation. School does not prepare students for much except acclimating to institutional life.

Makes you wonder if they are saying slavery has benefits to prepare students for Prisons For Profit which proliferate in Florida. Prisoners are treated like slaves.

Human trafficking is a form of slavery. Never solicit a prostitute. Their bodies are held hostage until they pay a certain amount. There is human trafficking in housekeeping and labor. The ones who are taken from their families do not receive benefits or skills that will benefit them in future positions.

Wasn't there a time where school was supposed to create possibilities for learning? Certain textbook have referred to slaves as "Migrant workers." They did not leave Africa to pursue the dream of being sold into bondage and making no money.

Behavior like this makes me glad I don't have children. Many who have children home school them. They couldn't do any worse than saying slavery was a good thing.

You can learn lessons anywhere. There are lessons to learn from an abusive relationship. Make like Daniel Kaluuya and Get Out. Far more can be learned in a positive relationship. Slavery happened. The Founding Fathers did not like it and accepted that "Everyone was doing it."

American history is complicated. World history is not always nice. Any history teacher can tell you "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

That is one reason my memory is strong. Besides wanting to recall nice moments with a baby not to mention fond recollections with contemporaries; bad people took advantage of me. They would repeat this behavior thinking they would get away with it again.

Find another fool. How can schools be called "Safe spaces" if the history is revised and watered down? Next they will say that Jews found benefit from concentration camps. Some might give testament. Six million cannot.

Schools can come after any group and marginalize their struggles. That is not what should be taught in school. It's no accident American students are falling behind in the world. European students learn multiple languages. Americans receive participation trophies and inaccurate information.
