Our children are always teaching us something <3
I’ve got a story to share. This morning I was getting my 2.5 year old ready for childcare. He didn’t want to go and refused to put on his socks and shoes. I said to him, daddy needs to work, mommy needs to work so you go to school and play and I will pick you up in a few hours, okay? Nope, he didn’t care and kept protesting. I thought for a minute and was really unsure how to convince him to get into the car.
Then I said to him… Charlie, do you know what mommy does for work? Mommy tells people how tasty seaweed is just like how you love them, and how eating them will make them strong like you! Wouldn’t you want mommy to tell people about seaweed? Charlie said YES! I ask him how many people do you want me to talk to? He said FIVE! I said, okay, I will go talk to five people today while you are at school and when you come home, I will tell you all about it, sounds good? Magically, he stood up and walked to the car with a smile.
I want to tell you this story not because of how I handled this situation and got my son into the car. But he reminded me that our ‘why’ is so simple. Every so often, we are distracted by shiny objects. I realise I don’t need to complicate what we do. So, here’s our elevator pitch - ‘we go tell people how tasty seaweed is and how it is good for you and the planet.’ enough said :D

3 年What a gorgeous story. Children are amazing and they can give us exactly what we need if we take the time to listen. Well done.
