Our Calgary team created a new ad campaign in 30 days
I gave our brand design and marketing team a challenge.
With economic waters getting rougher and small businesses starting to feel the pinch, we wanted to highlight that low rates are a key pillar of our payments and that Helcim could help. Our team had the following instructions:
Embracing the challenge, the team hunkered down and brainstormed. Now with 30 days past, we’ve just launched the Wild savings for your small business campaign, with 4 unique video spots:
The concept they came up with was simple and clever: Create a series of video ads that highlight ridiculous things that a business could do to save money, and then highlight that switching your payments to Helcim would be easier. They then turned those videos into digital ad campaigns, created a landing page, and came up with this kick-ass headline:
“There are a lot of wild ways to save, or your business could switch to Helcim for affordable payment processing.”
Everything is filmed in our office, edited, and animated by our team. And all the actors are from departments across the company - development, sales, customer service, finance, design, and more.
Helcim might have grown a lot, but in our hearts we’re still that bootstrapped small business that finds a way to get it done - just like our customers.

Most importantly, the campaign feels like Helcim. I think we’ve always had a little bit of a quirky, candid and funny side to our brand - and the team pulled off that “je ne sais quoi” Helcim :)
Along with the videos, the brand design team came up with a whole suite of creative design ads for our online campaigns.
I couldn’t be more proud of this team. The median age at Helcim is 29-years old. This is a young and passionate team that is driven to prove to the entire world that Calgary can take on and compete with the big companies of the world. ??
If you’ve ever visited our Calgary office, you’ll recognize our make-shift sets - you might even have stumbled upon one of our silly moments - but silly is good.

2 年I absolutely love these ads—the creativity, the urgency and the frugality! There is one thing I don’t understand. Why do you promote your median age of 29? I’m old. Apparently. 48. So maybe I’m biased. But Isn’t diversity on a team of value? Ethnic diversity. Socio-economic diversity. Neurodiversity. But also generational diversity?
