Our body, Our choice
For the past 3 weeks, the entire world is up in arms over the restriction on abortion rights imposed by the US Supreme Court, overturning the milestone #RoevsWade ruling.?
It is truly a blow to mankind!
Now, ask yourself “Is pregnancy the only time the rights over women’s bodies are dictated by other people, society, or government policies?”
In our opinion and from our experiences, we see this continue through all stages in a woman’s life.
Have we not all heard one or more of these responses at some point?
“Oh, that’s so common!”?
“Happens at this age. Don’t worry too much.”
“It can’t be so bad, come on!”
“Why are you so concerned? It's nothing. You are healthy.”
The worst of all is: “It is all in the mind, stop thinking about it and focus elsewhere!”
Believe it or not - within our team at Miyara, we have also faced situations where healthcare professionals have dismissed our health concerns or recurrent symptoms as trivial or negligible because all the prescribed test results were clean.?
We did a poll amongst our followers and asked for their opinion. Should women be able to decide for themselves and all of you answered "Of course" or "Yes".
We are happy to know that you think so.
Unfortunately, for many, this is not the case, and therein lies the problem. What can we do to change this?
Pain and Emotions
A vast majority of the world (including women) think women are destined to have health challenges during midlife and they just have to deal with it.?
For instance, pain due to period, endometriosis, fibroids or even gut issues are considered “normal” or “must definitely be on the tolerable scale” in several societal and even clinical settings. Pain awareness and management are still emerging fields even in this era entirely because of the lack of empathy and the perceived high pain threshold of women.?

While some cases may prove manageable without medical intervention, we all have seen or heard of a few who regret not being proactive or having trusted their body or emotions earlier.?
Why emotions? The same holds good if not more relevant for mental health issues too. Come on, don’t you agree?

Memes and jokes about women being schizophrenic/ hysterical, unpredictable, and moody are a daily affair. Those who make noise about issues are stigmatized as self-obsessed, hypochondriacs, or blowing things out of proportion!
Women who constantly hear such dismissive responses tend to lose trust in their instincts and body cues.?
Choose You?
Miyara, as a women's healthcare company, strongly encourages you to CHOOSE YOU. It can never go wrong! At the least, you will have no regrets. To try and find solutions to your health issues (like any other issue) is basic human instinct and YOU HAVE ALL THE RIGHTS. It is your body, make an informed choice! Get a second opinion, do your homework and discuss the options with your treating doctor or health coach.?
Here are some happy stories of women who made informed choices and believed in their bodies to inspire you.?
Over the last year or so, we have spoken to so many women who only realized they had a problem while they were talking to us.?
So, do you have low-impact but recurrent symptoms on the backburner (as they are ‘not serious enough’) while you run the race of life??
Yes, you got it right. We mean the pricking pain in your lower back/ neck stiffness as soon as you wake up, short-lived palpitations, inability to recollect stuff (brain fog), unwarranted thoughts and frequent headaches.?
Please do yourself and your people a favour.
Pause, reflect, and take steps to relieve yourself and be happy.?
Stay informed with Miyara.
Till next time,?
Take care and best wishes,
