Our Being

On a quest to leave a better generation at our wake, a fight for unification in all areas of life is drawn.

Standing a victim of circumstances I have little to no control over, my reality forever remains shattered by the thought of the next. While nothing would bring me greater joy than the thought of seeing a better tomorrow, my default remains in today.

Today have kept on playing as a constant repetition of self, times without number, providing us with the opportunity of dreading a tomorrow that remains unseen. In a world where our reality is governed by past and present occurrences, blaming us for our inability to hold on to any reality would be like blaming a fish because it can only live in water.

I was born into a Christian home, you were born into a Muslim'.

You went to the mosque, I went to church.

Society provided us with different forms of education.

Finally, the age of freedom beckoned.

Our franchise became ours to hold

Conditioned in extremely different ways

Paths are crossed in the most discriminative way possible,

Our differences are extremely visible

No mutual standing

Time placed us in the same reality

What choices are we offered?

We can all agree that Freedom can never be overemphasised not because it doesn’t have its negative attributes, but because we have felt the heat attached to leaving in fear times without number. While a slap always retains its painful attribute, beautiful smiles can be emitted even when the hardest of hand's dishes it on a day when it stands worthy of the cause.

Leaving live without a foundation to hold on too would leave us at the claws of our fears. There is a bitter truth to freedom that often escapes the mind, ‘'there is only Past and Present reality, there is no future reality, the future remains in a mental state, more like a spiritual being that gives us the drive to move on. Standing in the same reality with no spiritual values or societal conditionings to govern our first reactions, we sole heartedly cherished the love that our birth brought within its first year. We valued the presence of our mom and dad even when the brain wasn't grown enough to understand their actions.

We might not be geared to love but we can't deny the fact that our greatest gift as humans is our ability to provide an open mind. Open-mindedness has and would always be the form of the mind, we could put locks at the slightest provocation but we can’t restrict its ability to create another path.

What we do at the present determines the reality of the future and becomes a creation of the past and at the same time it retains its stance as the present, meaning that we can make all three states ‘’past, present and future’’ actualise at the same time.

Being able to stand tall in an equation as complicated as this, our importance in the world can never be undermined, we might be little but we are certainly impactful. Every action we take creates a reaction, if the gravity of the action at hand is not understood, the reaction would certainly outweigh the action.

In the context above, if grudges from our societal conditioning are to be placed aside, we would realise that our first encounter with a Muslim, Cristian, Buddhist or someone from an extremely different region was one of open-mindedness, Biasness only takes form when our judgemental claws took over. A clear sentence can only be passed when the right judges are put in place, if while on the same path with a Buddhist, we judge him or her by their inability to believe in a God like the bible proclaims, our sentence would be passed on an unbalanced scale.

Every one of us are creations of numerous conditionings, provided with the ability to either love or hate, while we can only emit one at a time, we shouldn't forget that we have the potential to emit the other at a later time. Our mind is always open, taking any stance is possible, if we can build foundations from the right concepts, we would certainly find it easy retaining the peace of mind we desire.
