UroPredict Launch: A Machine-Learning Model on Real-World Data

After the publication of the results from our multi-year collaboration with The French Kidney Cancer Research Network (UroCCR), we were excited to launch UroPredict: A Machine-Learning Model on Real-World Data for the Prediction of Kidney Cancer Recurrence (UroCCR-120).

Applying machine learning (ML) to real-world prospective data from patients undergoing surgery for localized or locally advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) can provide accurate individual disease-free survival (DFS) prediction, outperforming traditional prognostic scores that present moderate predictive performance, leading to challenges in establishing follow-up recommendations after surgery and in selecting patients who could benefit from adjuvant therapy.

Try the RCC Recurrence Predictor using your own data.

Embracing Diversity: World Down Syndrome Day at SOPHiA GENETICS

On World Down Syndrome Day, we stood in solidarity with individuals with Down syndrome, including Isla Rose, daughter of our colleague John Carey, MBA . Marked on 3/21, this day reflects the unique genetic trait of Down syndrome, serving as a reminder of the beautiful diversity within our community. At SOPHiA GENETICS, where genetics is our passion, we embraced this occasion to show our support and stand with the Down syndrome community.

Across the globe, our teams wore vibrant socks, echoing the shapes of chromosomes, to symbolize our solidarity with Isla Rose and all individuals with Down syndrome. This warm gesture highlighted our deep commitment to recognizing and appreciating the richness that every person brings to our lives.

See how we got involved.

Basque Country Heritage, Global Impact

At SOPHiA GENETICS, our roots in the Basque Country are part of our heritage and a driving force behind our mission to transform healthcare on a global scale. Our recent initiatives across the region showcase this unique blend of local tradition and worldwide innovation.

Through a pioneering partnership with Mondragon Unibertsitatea , known for its innovative approach to education within the world's largest industrial cooperative, we're opening the doors to the future of precision medicine for students, offering immersive educational experiences and internship opportunities. Meanwhile, our SOPHiANs brought their A-game to the Trophée Izarbel, exemplifying our spirit of teamwork and connection within the Basque innovation landscape.

A masterclass at UPV/EHU allowed us to dive deep into biomedical data analysis with Data Science Master’s students, nurturing the next generation of innovators. Plus, our commitment to merging local heritage with healthcare advancements was beautifully highlighted in a documentary featuring Jurgi Camblong.
