Our alternative to an event cancellation this week was a fast change to a digital setup
As the show must go on, we adjusted our format and accepted to play in front of empty chairs and instead broadcast live with an unchanged agenda, same stage-settings and live music.
For a whole month we have built engagement at our partners organizations and set expectation to the award ceremony for best practice sharing and showcases. In this years Hackathon we engaged 130 Data Scientists from 26 partner teams and 12 countries to develop #dataforgood usecases and to include at least one of the UN Sustainable Developments goals.
In this weeks 3 hour digital live event, 12 of our Nordic business partners presented their #HackInSAS contributions on line from their (home) offices. With the online broadcasted setup, where also the external jury and journalists participated, we reached even a wider audience from 3 continents!!!
Our month long Hackathon builds “belonging” and is a way to recruit and onboard partners. The SAS advanced analytic platform in the cloud, is made available for teams of data scientists, programmers and specialist. The accessibility to On_the_edge technology stimulates Hack teams curiosity to try out new AI and machine learning tools -supported with coaches and specialists from SAS online. Together with their customers they build prototypes to unsolved business challenges or social benefits. All enablement and preparations is online. No class room training and No travel. We are all the winners!
Almost 7000 people voted for their favorite online, and with the external jury`s 95% weight of the votes, the top 3 results in this 2 parallel competitions are
