This would have been a very interesting read if only it were true. Actually, my life has been part of that and then topsy turvy for some years. This led me to believe that there are certain people in our lives that play a very important role that we often take for granted. These are our allies, mentors, cheer leaders, prayer warriors, name it. They are usually in the background of our lives, playing and fine-tuning the soundtrack to the movie of our lives

Reminds me of a character called Harold Cooper in the hit series #TheBlacklist especially at the time the character Raymond "Red" Reddington had been tried and sentenced to death. He went back and forth to the “whitehouse” to petition the president for relief. The story ends when Red gets a new immunity agreement and a new lease on life. Harold went above and beyond the normal human limits even when the situation seemed glum. He never gave up, never wavered, he pressed on. Though this is fiction and what Harold did is more than the usual that we expect, we have such people in our lives, in boardrooms shouting and lobbying and beseeching that you don’t get fired from that job, or that you are well-placed to deliver on such and such project, or that your company should be hired to implement this and that etc
Here are some reasons why people like Harold Cooper from "The Blacklist" or other allies and mentors are important in our lives:
In a world today, where resilience requires a strong social network to survive adverse shocks like job loss, illness etc, it’s important that we take these people more seriously and, in my experience, communicate with them like you do your confessor. Overall, a strong ally will help you access a social network that can play an important role in building resilience and helping you to overcome challenges and adversity.
If you have such a person or people in your life, learn to treat them with the reverence they deserve, but not to their faces as that could backfire on you.?
