Formula 1 may be a global sport, but the local Brackley community is just as important to us.
Our efforts to make a difference and build a legacy beyond the racetrack begins at home, and we are incredibly proud to have supported various local initiatives, groups and schools since our site opened in 1998.
Below are just a few ways in which our team has played its part in the local community over the past 12 months.
We have continued to assist some of the lowest income families in the area ?via our support of the Brackley Foodbank and the Brackley Elves.
Based near to our factory, the foodbank works with social services to provide crisis food support for those in the local area.
The foodbank also provides vouchers for food parcels to those that are struggling.
Foodbank Trustee and Co-Ordinator Ian Harwood said: “Mercedes are the most significant and consistent local supporter of our cause. Their generosity over the last 5 years has paid a substantial share of our fixed costs on an annual basis, allowing us to focus on our clients and their needs.
“This contribution has helped us to support hundreds of families and individuals within Brackley and the surrounding villages during times of food hardship".
While it may sound like the Elves are a seasonal initiative, their efforts are year-round, and they work hard to bring the community together via a range of initiatives offered for free or at very low cost.
Kathryn Bundy and Patricia Savill manage the Brackley Elves and commented: “We are incredibly grateful to Mercedes for their unwavering support over the last 5 years.
"With their assistance,?we have been able to make a real difference?to local families and elderly people through the challenges?we have all faced in recent?times.

“Team members have generously donated toys, games and other gifts to local children, alongside grants provided by Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS. These grants have enabled us to provide Christmas dinners for the elderly and provide supermarket gift cards for families in need, ensuring everyone has a great?day.
“Without the team’s support, our impact would not have been as far reaching as it has been.”
The team has also continued to work closely with Brackley Town Council in 2024, most recently sponsoring the Brackley Fireworks which saw 10,000 local residents in attendance.
On supporting the display, the team’s Chief Operating Officer Rob Thomas said:
“Giving back to the town that has been our home for so many years now is incredibly important to us, and we hope all of those in attendance had a brilliant time.
"We are always proud to sponsor the Brackley Fireworks display and would like to take this opportunity to thank Brackley Town Council for their hard work and dedication in making the event so memorable. It was especially nice to have good weather on the night, too!
"It’s fantastic to bring the local community together in this way, and to see the positive impact the evening has on so many charities and community groups.”
The council added: “Brackley Fireworks were a great success, bringing in a record crowd. With the support of Mercedes, we brought Brackley a fantastic display of colour and coordination to be enjoyed by all.
“The event also provided ?valuable support to various local community groups and businesses.
"We have also had the pleasure of teaming up with the town’s other sporting outlet, Brackley Town FC .
The club generously allowed the team use of their facilities for our second charity football match against Aston Martin F1 Team, which took place after the British Grand Prix in July.
