The rise of UX in Tech Doc - A Message from our CEO
Technical documentation is getting a seat at the table! When it was delivered as paper manuals or PDFs, most people in the company didn’t really consider it. Now that it’s being delivered on the Web (think HTML, dynamic delivery, …), more and more people understand its value and the opportunity it represents. Proof is that over the past years, we’ve seen a new breed of stakeholders involved in content projects: UX designers. Creating a consistent and seamless customer journey across the different touchpoints has become a primary concern in order to increase satisfaction. The tech doc world can rejoice!
But it also comes with new challenges for all of us. Your tech writing teams will have to educate these stakeholders about the specificities and complexity of tech doc. In the end, your users just want to find answers and the value is therefore in the content, not just in the design of the UI. As for us, who provide you with the tools to make it happen, we’ll have to give you the capabilities and flexibility to design the UX/UI you expect.
We started this path months ago with our new Page Designer and its WYSIWYG low-code UI editor. We have received great feedback from our customers that encourages us to go further and faster. And we will. We can’t wait to show you our upcoming innovations. Happy 2023!
Feature of the Year: The Page Designer
In 2022, we launched the Page Designer, which gives our customers the freedom and flexibility to configure their documentation portal without requiring IT or vendor services.
They can easily customize their portal with a variety of “drag and drop” components through an intuitive low-code editor. They can create different home pages and landing pages, personalize layouts, branding and other design elements to fit their business needs.?
