Let's talk about the other vital exercise. Today, across the board, everybody knows the importance of doing exercise. Physical exercise. The sponsor of the ball drop in Times Square this year was none other than Planet Fitness! I mean, the awareness is crazy. There's a gym on every corner. Everybody has one or two or three gym memberships. It's everybody's New Year's resolution.
Everybody knows how important it is to your health to do physical exercise, the difference it's going to make and everything. People at the gym that have turned around their lives. I myself have lowered my blood sugar level, my cholesterol level, my triglyceride level, my blood pressure. I've been able to correct everything. I would have been on five different pills by now, if I didn't go to the gym every single day! It's powerful! It’s strong. Everybody knows the direct connection, the energy, the vitality, the type of quality of sleep you have. Everybody is very, very aware of it and most everybody's on board with doing exercise.
Now, I want everybody to understand that as important as doing physical exercise is, equally important is emotional, mental, psychological exercise.
If you follow the big boys - you know - Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, um lets see, who else…well, I mean, it doesn't matter! You can see that they have muscles and vitality and strength in their psychology and the way they think and the ones that have shared - and so many of them have shared - we're so lucky today that we don't have to figure things on our own. We don't have to do all the work and have wait until we are 75 to figure out what's important.
We now know that exercise is important. We can hear and see the benefits of it because so many people have tried it and shared with us their own great results! It's beautiful today, if somebody needs a doctor, we have access to so many people who have used that doctor, who have information about that doctor. If you have a question of two medications, whether they interact or don't, all you have to do is go online and there's 24/7 access to so much information. Doctors, Pharmacists and people that know. They’re all out there. It's a beautiful, beautiful time in society because we don't have to figure things out on our own. You could learn from everybody else and believe it or not, that's how you know the power of exercise, not because we figured it out on our own, but because others taught us!
Next, what's the best exercise to do?
You know that too. You can read up on it. Is it spinning? Is it the elliptical? Running? Is it doing weights? Is it interval cardio? I mean look, today you can go to the gym. There are people that read up and are happy to talk about it and share with you. It's a great thing! There's so much information that in the small exercise frame that you have in your day, you could knock it out of the ballpark and do amazing because there's so many people you can ask.
I changed my exercises based upon information I get from the gym, from people that are there. There are people that are very educated there. There’s the trainer's who went to school and study this stuff. Plus you could simply go online. It's fascinating how much you can get. Do you know how many books were written on psychological strength, emotional strength, resilience? It's all out there.
What have you done about it?
Is there one thing that you do on your day, on a regular basis, that transforms the way of your life? It's totally about emotional exercise on a daily basis. I mean think about it, I'm an Orthodox Jew and our schedule includes that we pray three times a day, every single day to connect with gratefulness and gratitude and thankfulness. We have a prayer when we come out of the bathroom. We have a prayer before we eat, and after we eat. That's why the Jewish nation has been around through thick and thin, through so many different Holocausts throughout the generations, we're here! We have great emotional strategies. We have great psychological strategies. We do mental exercises every single day. There’s not an hour day that we don't do an exercise, to thank, to be grateful, to be on top of it! That's one of the reasons why we have persevered!
You want to learn from this mindset, learn from this attitude and apply it to your life.
Daily mental routines. Emotional, psychological exercises every single day. It works. It'll keep you around. It'll keep you on top of your A-game. It’ll teach you to be on top of your world. It truly works. It works for all the biggies, it’s going to work for you. Get a mental, emotional, psychological exercise routine going in your life and don't push it off! Do it now.
