The Other Side of 2020
Today is the first “work day” of the New Year. Before diving in, I wanted to send a note to my professional network.
The Pandemic brought with it unthinkable tragedy in the world AND it also brought a message of love, resiliency, adaptability and advancement. The world will never be the same following this tragic situation.
Everyone knows the terrible side of COVID-19 and it easy to dwell on this. In this message, I wanted to recognize the other side of 2020.
On a personal note, I relearned how wonderful and precious it is to spend time with my beautiful wife and incredible children. We spent more time with each other in 2020 than in any year since 2013. For me, it was fantastic and it reminded me of how blessed I am to have my incredible wife of thirty years and three incredible children who are taking on the world. I have cherished every moment with them in 2020 and I will appreciate them more moving forward.
On the professional side of my life, our business proved it could do things we could never have imagined. We operated virtually for almost an entire year while BETTER serving clients. We miraculously demonstrated an ability to grow qualitatively and financially. We innovated more than in the prior three years since becoming Prime Capital Investment Advisors. Two thousand twenty represented fantastic growth as an organization and we are better as company for having thrived through all of the challenges.
For the world, we witnessed more charity, dedication and loving spirit than we have seen in a long time. We also witnessed incredible innovation in medicine, science, higher education and every other field of endeavor. Who could have imagined the medical and technological accomplishments of 2020? Multiple vaccines in less than nine months, testing innovation developed in less than three months, entire medical facilities constructed in weeks, manufacturing operations transformed to produce ventilators and masks in weeks … It was extraordinary what we accomplished in fighting this terrible virus.
We have all lost loved ones and nobody would ever hope for anything like this again. Given that, let’s not ignore the blessings and good that will ultimately come of this? Let’s make 2021 a year of greater accomplishments and FAR LESS tragedy!
