OTE Uncovers Photo Trove

There's a history to the Shunk-Kender photography exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art and O'Toole-Ewald Art Associates, Inc. (OTE) has a great deal to do with it. We uncovered the trove of photos a few years ago when examining a vast accumulation of odds and ends furnishings and detritus at a warehouse in Manhattan where the possessions of those dying without a will are stored. Sensing the artistic value of the collection OTE fought  against the planned dispersing of the photos in large batches at auction and initiated a bidding campaign that was won by the Lichtenstein Foundation. From there to MOMA. Plan on seeing it before it closes because it is a dazzling photographic history of the mid-century art world.#Shunk-Kenderphotos
