OSHA Cracking Down on Careless Employers During COVID-19
Are you still doing temperature checks? Wearing masks? Social distancing? Why?
OSHA announced this at the end of January 2021 ----> Protecting Workers: Guidance on Mitigating and Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in the Workplace

Where I live, the fabulous state of Florida and their “we want small government” actually just passed a law protecting employers but ONLY IF there is GOOD FAITH EFFORT to keep employees safe.
- If the court determines that the defendant made a good faith effort, the case is dismissed, and the defendant (employer) is immune from civil liability.
- If, in contrast, the court determines that the defendant (employer) did not make a good faith effort, the plaintiff may proceed with the litigation.
Also, you may enjoy this video (sarcasm intended). The not-so-fabulous governor of the state of Florida passed several Executive Orders that are contrary to OSHA requirements of keeping employees safe and CDC Guidelines during COVID-19.
Employers Beware. The self-appointed spoke person for “Small Government” and his fan club are setting you up to falsely believe you will not get what you deserve for intentional careless acts, but OSHA fines and penalties are headed your way.
- The Republican governor issued an Executive Order that Florida businesses cannot decide who can come into their business.
- Yes, he has banned public and private businesses from requiring customers and patrons to have the COVID-19 vaccine. (EO 21 81)
- He has also issued a no mask mandate order which bans local governments from enforcing mask mandate violations. No masks required! Spreading COVID-19 is your right! Sarcasm intended. (EO 20 297)
- Employers BEWARE: OSHA mandates that safety in the workplace is an employer's responsibility and they are cracking down!
