& the Oscar goes to...

Morning All, the Oscars are tonight!

I don't personally know all of the titles, but I'm sure some of you have watched them. We have had more time than we usually would on our hands.

It's no surprise that the box office has been struggling the past couple of years. Theaters were closed for a better portion of the past two years and the amount of content created was certainly less due to shooting restrictions. 2021's Box office was still 40% less than 2019's.

If total revenue continues to stay low, how will Hollywood justify making new movies? During the pandemic, movies have started direct-releasing to streaming platforms... for a nominal fee.

Now, what if streaming platforms offered an ad-supported movie release? This would allow brands the opportunity to attach themselves to popular movies and filmmakers to continue to receive support to create.

My team at CatapultX did a little experimenting with our AI and paired ads with each of the Best Picture nominees. Look below for "Don't Look Up".

What do you think? Will movies continue to release directly? Will movie-buffs return to the theaters? Will movies become ad supported?
