Orlando business community back on its feet after Hurricane Ian

Welcome to Orlando Business Journal's weekly LinkedIn newsletter. I'm Digital Producer/Senior Staff Writer Richard Bilbao, rounding up Orlando business news to keep you in the know when time is short.

So let's address the elephant in the room: Hurricane Ian. Last week, the storm walloped Florida, left many people without homes and has metro Orlando still dealing with flooding, damage and insurance claims.

Our thoughts go out to those dealing with the aftermath.

In a handful of days, Hurricane Ian racked up a bill of damages that may become one of the costliest storms in history . Locally, there's leftover flooding in certain parts of Osceola County , Sanford and east Orlando. The residential real estate industry is dealing with unique challenges and transportation services slowly are getting back up to speed .

Here's more on local post-Hurricane Ian activity:

And now onto other big business deals, transactions and activity headlines from the week.

Well, that's all for this week's headlines and thanks for supporting OBJ.

On a personal note, I hope your week continues to be a great one ... like mine has been so far thanks to the University of Central Florida Knights dominating the Southern Methodist University Mustangs in football on Oct. 5. The final score was 41-19 in favor of our hometown team. We're 4-1, Knight Nation! #ChargeOn
