The Original Mad Hatter!
Look at this face!!! ??
Meet Grandma Felson, 88 years old, and still going strong.
Today is NATIONAL FELT HAT DAY, and also the day we had to say goodbye to my Grandpa, 16 years ago…
The irony to my Grandpa’s death anniversary date, and this National Felt Hat Day, is that my Grandma and Grandpa met in Luton Town – YES, this Romeo and Juliet story is based on a pair of original Hatters!
The Luton Town Football Club’s nickname, "The Hatters", reflects Luton's historical connection with the hat making trade, which has been prominent there since the 17th century.
Not enough irony for you, GET THIS… so my Grandma has been making hats since waaaay back! My Grandma & Grandpa had their own stall on the Indoor Market in Luton – proper market traders they were together!
And now, my Grandma is still participating, and encouraging the town's people with all kinds of volunteer work, helping the community with inter-faith mixing and acceptance, and yes she is still making her name --- making hats!
She has her own Facebook Page and everything!!!
I’m sure one of my Aunties is looking after this Facebook marketing! ???
?
So just a quick, non work-related article, as I wanted to say – my Grandma makes me so proud! She is one of my heros! And especially on this day, I wish I could be in Luton Town to give her a massive hug! Grandpa Felson - I miss you madly!
Now that I got this all off my chest - it's time for me to get to work...
Led Zeppelin comes to mind – Ramble On!
