The origin of Corporate Buddy System - “ KANGAN SAHELI “

Mohan’s musing : The world today needs to take a bow to our centuries old custom which got indoctrinated as a “Peer to Peer Bonding Practice” by the western world. 

One can easily make out the similarities......

·      At the time of wedding and before graha-pravesh - On joining

·      Another lady of same age, residing in proximity and temperamentally compatible not related to the Mother - in Law - a fellow staff member but not from the same department

·      Thus, their bond gets sanctified “ BUDDY” a la “KANGAN SAHELI “is appointed.

So akin to the Boys - Girls scout or US Armed force.......All these came into being sometime in the 17th Century; while Merriam - Webster accepted it in the Dictionary around 1940-45 .

Happy Karwa Chauth .....Its also a special annual occasion when married women celebrate the bond of friendship with her ‘ Saheli - Buddy ’. A thanks giving day ! 

It’s different strange co-incidence.... the previous day was ‘World Food day’ - Feasting followed by fasting!!
