Orientation Address
Privledged to share the thoughts on engineering during the orientation of new batch of Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Mechatronics engineering students. My message to all fresh engineering students
"Engineering is more than just equations and technical solutions; it's a mindset, a way of thinking that seeks to solve complex problems, improve lives, and drive innovation. It's about understanding the world around us and shaping the future for the better. One of the keys to success in engineering is collaboration. You will work with peers from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their unique perspectives to the table. Collaborative projects will teach you the art of teamwork, communication, and compromise – skills that are crucial in the professional world.
As engineers, you have the power to shape the world. From sustainable energy solutions to life-saving medical devices, your work will have a real impact. But with this power comes responsibility. Always keep in mind the ethical implications of your decisions. Strive for solutions that not only work efficiently but also serve the greater good.
Additionally, never stop learning. The field of engineering is constantly evolving. What you learn today might become outdated tomorrow. Embrace a lifelong learning mindset. Engage in internships, attend workshops, and stay updated with the latest developments in your chosen field.
Lastly, don't forget to take care of yourselves. Balancing your studies with personal well-being is essential for long-term success. Engage in activities that bring you joy, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and seek support when needed. You are not alone on this journey; your professors, mentors, and fellow students are here to support you."
