How can advances in organoids technologies impact your field of research?
Organoid technologies transcend many different science specialisms, offering promising opportunities for those working in human disease modelling, tissue engineering, drug development, clinical diagnostics, and regenerative medicine.
In our latest article, members of the programming committee for our 2024 Organoids: Advances and Applications conference , share how they use organoid models in their respective fields, from researching neurodevelopmental disorders to embryonic development.
New training series teaching CRISPR genome editing of mammalian stem cells
This brand new training suite will provide hands-on experience in all aspects of CRISPR Genome Engineering for Cellular Modelling and Screening.
Join our experienced instructors for courses in 2024 and 2025 for a comprehensive exploration into how you can effectively apply genetic modification technologies to your own research.
Through practical sessions, demonstrations and lectures, you will gain the skills and confidence to use CRISPR-based tools and approaches through a blended format of virtual and lab-based workshops.
Applications for the first two courses are open until 30 July 2024.
Bursary support is available for anyone facing financial barriers to attending training courses. All information is available on our website.
Free online course for scientists interpreting genomic variants (revised start date)
Explore the process of variant classification and interpretation to strengthen studies using genomic data and genetic information, with our brand new online course: Interpreting Genomic Variation: Overcoming Challenges in Diverse Populations.
Our expert-led, free course will guide you through everything you need to know to get started with classifying and interpreting genomic variants. Whether you are new to the discipline, or looking to improve on what you already know, you will gain experience through real-world case studies, exposing you to the complicating factors and sources of uncertainty you are likely to encounter in research or clinical practice.
Join our educators and fellow learners, live over three weeks, starting 29 July 2024.
You will be able to sign up for a free place a week prior to the course starting. keep up to date on social media using this hashtag: #FLGenomicVariantsDiversity
Learning is supported through the FutureLearn platform.

Congratulations to our Single Cell Biology bursary winners!
We were delighted to welcome five exceptional bursary winners to our Single Cell Biology conference earlier this month. Having previous trained with us in Brazil last year, on our Single Cell Genomics course, each of them won a prize for outstanding grant writing and received bursary support from The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) to attend our conference in the UK, and present a poster to a global audience.
A huge congratulations to this special group for everything they have achieved throughout the last twelve months.
We will share a two-part interview covering their learning experiences from Instituto Nacional de Cancer (INCA), Brazil, to Hinxton Hall Conference Centre, on the Wellcome Genome Campus, UK, in future editions of Beyond the Science - stay tuned!
Keynote highlights from our 2024 Single Cell Biology conference
Professor Marianne Bronner, California Institute of Technology, USA shares insights on: 'Differential neural crest gene regulatory sub-circuits along the body axis'.
Professor Sarah Teichmann, University of Cambridge, UK discusses: '4D cell atlasing of human organs'
We need your help to improve our website! ???
We are doing some research to inform future changes to our Wellcome Connecting Science Learning and Training site. So far we have put together a list of things that our communities use our website for.
We now need you to share your experiences on how important these things are to you, by completing our short survey.
Your feedback is crucial in helping us improve the structure for you.
