The Organizational S.O.P. Question
Many corporate organizations, especially the large ones, irrespective of industry, generally function by their "S.O.Ps" - Standard Operating Procedures. As we know, SOPs work well for routine, predictable and repeatable operational or functional tasks, from the perspectives of efficiency and stability.
However, most organizational issues may be anchored on a different S.O.P. framework; here is where I would like your thoughtful responses as the audience, to a question that I would like to put forth.
In general, an organizational issue generates at least two dimensions which sometimes morph into a third (one, two or all of which attract importance to similar or different relative extents):
1. Substance : the content of the issue
2. Optics: the perceptions and presentation pertaining the issue
3. Politics: needs no explanation, we know what this dimension means:-)
If I were to request you, the reader of this article, to divide 100 points in terms of weightage (importance) between the three dimensions for any significant widespread organizational issue, how would you relatively score them, by and large?
P.S. There is no S.O.P. for deriving the answer - every answer, as your valued opinion, is valid!
