A quick synopsis of my speech:
Every seed has the potential to grow, but it needs the right amount of sunlight, good manure & the correct way of nurturing for it to bear fruits. It's crucial to tend to your employees the way you would do your garden. You'd make sure that it remains fresh, beautiful and a place that everyone wants to go back to, right? Such should be the environment at work. Unless the workforce has a nurturing environment, the employees can't perform to the best of their abilities.
Every corporation goes through so many changes and developments with time, the foundation should be strongly supportive of growth & transformation. Companies like Google, IKEA & Microsoft are proof of a work culture that has made them stand out and make a big name for themselves.
The VP of Microsoft says that people can only be at their best if they can collaborate in an environment that encourages employees to share their ideas openly, which is why he believes that culture is vital for any establishment.
Google is very well known for its unique & fun organizational culture. Every employee is a hands-on contributor and wears several hats. In Google, the motivated employees who live the Google brand's name and find themselves aligned with the company call themselves Googlers. It shows that at Google, their employees are so involved in the company that they have a symbolic name that mirrors its name and image, which is a sure sign of existing vivid cultural values within the company.
Over the years, Google has identified that employees are the internal customers. Hence it has been giving employees a sense of purpose, enhancing their self-esteem and sense of belonging for being a part of it.
Satisfied employees not only increase productivity and reduce turnover but enhance creativity and commitment too.
An important thing to understand is that company leaders play an instrumental role in shaping and sustaining the organizational culture. Therefore, cultural transformation within that place is of the utmost importance.

To sum up:
The key to any successful organization is to have a culture based on firmly held & supported beliefs that are established & carried on by the leaders. The organizational culture is the foundation upon which rests the fate of the entire brand.
“Organizational culture is the sum of values and rituals which serve as glue to integrate the members of the organization.”
Organizational Culture is the carrier of meaning. Cultures provide not only a shared view of “what is”, but also of “why is”. Culture is the organization's immune system.

1 年This is a great write up. Truly it's the real way and all the leaders should follow the same way if they really want to change the culture of the own organisation. Inspiring. Thanks Sheethal ??

1 年Sheetal Jotwani- OD Specialist, Business Coach and Trainer Very well said and presented in a clear way to make an impact. Organisations, especially leadership along with Learning & Development teams have to gear up to hear what employees are saying and shape the workforce to give them reason for work they do and meaning for the objectives set for them to achieve. #employerbranding is an essential part of drafting organisation image internally before venturing out to craft a brand to the outer stakeholders be it customers, partners and vendors. Branding echos from within.
