Its an attempt to compare a complex organization structure having multiple moving?parts?with something we can relate to. (my understanding is limited to only SI Services Orgs.)
The Functions and? Values of the organization are very specific and coordinate through a framework.
Leadership - Gives the direction needed, Steers through the high and lows of the organization, takes decisions which are needed. Right decisions keep the organization on track else derails the same. Hence this brain of the organizations cant go wrong.
Sales & Marketing - Keep the organization on track? in line to the Leaderships foresight. Runs through the tough terrain and guides the organization to tread. Marketing team works on image projection, mindshare and so much more to ensure the organization stays relevant for the industry.??
Frameworks and Support Functions - The Glue for the organization.?Its objective is keep things intact with in the frameworks of things. Support the growth, give the visibility and so much more. Imagine?if the finance systems don't project the right numbers, how would the organization even plan yearly projections. HR one of the most toughest organizations (working between the Leadership, stakeholders and delivery organization), which has the responsibility of keeping a smiling face even when the times are not right and deliver the toughest people related decisions. With out them there would have been a void in employee satisfaction and engagement.
Delivery Organizations - The actual legs of the organization, who drive what was sold by the sales team, they find ways to do things better each time.? This team is generally the bulk of the organization who achieve the miles (numbers).

QA, Audit, Delivery Assurance?- This team is the Health monitor of the organization, ensures plan, delivery, and lot of other parameters of the engagement(s) are in check. They ensure that the delivery quality and risks of the projects are managed well in advance.
Customer needs, Trends, Analysts - Where there is need there are reasons for services and doing business, customer needs are these precise reasons SI organizations survive. Trends are analysis outcomes done by? research and analysts organizations such as Forrester and Gartners. These trends derived by research organizations help evangelists like the SI's to influence and deliver a meaningful customized message for customers.?
CoE, Delivery Heads,?& Presales - Catalysts of growth, thought leaders, who understand industry technology trends, customer needs and align to Organization sales team objectives while drive/ support the delivery organization. one of the important objectives of this team is to translate Customer needs, understand the trends and drive?delivery led growth and make customer successful.
Investors, Stakeholders, Share Holders - The body to function needs targets, motivation and willingness to stay ahead. Simple,?no one will buy stocks of an organization if they don't have a zeal to grow, specifically in this world where economics is supreme.
PS : We could complicate this further by adding motors, gears, breaks, light etc. signifying partner ecosystems, advisors, legal team, externals consulting partners etc. but dropped it as there is no end to it. the objective was to give an outline and derive inference.?
