Organic Reach vo. 20
Organic Recruitment Ltd
It's time to think differently about hospitality recruitment!
Hello!
We trust this (our 20th!!) edition of our newsletter finds you well and raring to go for another big week! We thought we'd start a bit of a discussion this week.
But before we get to that, we've had quite the bustling week here at Organic Recruitment – one that took us from behind computer screens to real-life. It's been a rewarding change of pace and one we are eager to repeat!
Our largely remote team had the opportunity to meet and interact in person, fostering a sense of camaraderie and team spirit that is often hard to replicate digitally.
Alongside some client meetings, we had a delightful time visiting Tattu Restaurants , having a great lunch at Arcade , and even converting The Hoxton into our workspace for the day! And what better way to round off a day of good work and companionship than a relaxing drink at Swiftbar ?
And guess what? We've got something else planned for this week!
Switching gears, we were quite taken aback by a piece of news that emerged recently - the significant closure of many hospitality businesses. An alarming 1 in 18 had to shut shop in the past year, amounting to a total of 5,736 in just a year. This trend seems to be propelled by a surge of overheads, the strain on customers' cost of living, and ongoing staffing issues.
It seems the government is stepping in with a potential solution - a "hospitality boot camp". The initiative proposes helping unemployed individuals venture into the hospitality sector. The proposition seems to hinge on education and skill development, which, we feel, is an excellent approach. We're eagerly waiting for more information on this – details about the project's design, its execution, and who would be heading it.
As a recruitment company, we are always on the lookout for ways to improve both the quality and quantity of candidates in the employment market. An initiative like this could be a game-changer in bringing a flush of skilled candidates to the table.
What do you think?
Do these sorts of initiatives have a chance of success in your opinion?
We'd love to hear from you – every one of your insights will prove invaluable in our pursuit of excellence.
