Is Organic Chemistry the Blind Spot in the Energy and Defossilization Debate?

The energy and the chemical sector are both dependent on fossil resources such as crude oil, natural gas and coal. Consequently, a comprehensive defossilization in all sectors and processes must be the goal. The SATW invited representatives from industry, associations, administration and research to discuss ways to defossilize the chemical value chain from a Swiss perspective. Examples discussed of how we can make the industry more sustainable were Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU), the use of biomass, the expansion of green hydrogen and other measures. Find the summary of the discussion forum SATW Forum "Defossilisation of the Swiss chemical industry - shaping the future" in this post. https://www.satw.ch/en/publications/satw-forum-defossilisation-of-the-swiss-chemical-industry-shaping-the-future. Do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested to participate in the coming discussion rounds. Best regards Hans-Peter
